Planning Applications

Whilst Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) is the Local Planning Authority and decision making body, the Parish Council independently examines each planning application submitted to EFDC and has the opportunity to make comments and raise objections/support.

When reviewing planning applications the Parish Council takes into account any written comments received from parishioners, and gives due consideration to the impact of any proposal on:

– The unique character of the village and its environs

– Any local conservation considerations

– EFDC’s current Development Plan policies

It must be remembered that EFDC are the ultimate arbiter in planning matters, and Willingale Parish Council are merely responsible for considering policies and summarising local opinion.

All planning applications across Epping Forest District can be viewed on EFDC’s planning portal via a search here

If a parishioner wishes to comment on a proposed development they are encouraged to:

– via EFDC website planning portal https://www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk/planning-and-building/comment-on-a-planning-application/

– via email to EFDC appcomment@eppingforestdc.gov.uk

– write to EFDC, Civic Offices, High Street, Epping, Essex, CM16 4BZ quoting the relevant planning application number

Please copy any comments to Willingale Parish Council via clerk@willingaleparishcouncil.org.uk

Those who feel deeply concerned by a particular proposal may make a verbal presentation to the Parish Council either by contacting the Parish Clerk or their local Councillor.

Parishioners should remember that the planning process necessarily conforms to a strictly defined schedule, and it is essential that they comply with the deadlines that this imposes.
